RAISING AWARENESSWorld Downs Syndrome Day (WDSD) observed on 21st March every year, is a global awareness day which has been officially observed by the United Nations since 2012.  Downs Syndrome International encourages people all over the world to choose their own activities and events on WDSD to help raise awareness of what Downs Syndrome is, what it means to have Downs Syndrome and how people with Downs Syndrome play a vital role in our lives and our communities. Why 21st March? The date of 21st day of the 3rd Month was selected to signify the uniqueness of the triplication (trisomy) of the 21st chromosome which causes Downs Syndrome.Sundowns is observing this special day by inviting everyone to wear LOTS OF SOCKS for WDSD on 21st March 2016.  Why not get your friends and family to sponsor you to wear as many socks as you can.  Send us some photos and we will share them with our members.  Thanks Sarah
