Happy Monday (Kids Back to School Day)

Hurrah, just dropped the kids back outside the school gates, six blissful hours of child-free time to get on with some work without any interruptions!!!  I mean, I obviously love them to bits but one whole week of watching them watch their phone screens is enough to send anyone round the bend, isn't it?There were some highlights to the Half Term week, the children went to Centre Parks with their Dad for the weekend, my sister's and their children came to visit, so a quick tour of the house then off out to The Hazel Pear at Acton Bridge (fabulous Gastro Pub by the way) for tea.

Race Night Review

Wow what an absolutely fantastic evening.  On arrival we were warmly welcomed by Ben who was selling tickets on the door (if not pre-purchased), such a lovely young man who is still at school, however finds the time to volunteer down at the Welcome Centre when he can.  We then sauntered over to the betting table where Kirsten had everything under control (rather her than me).  She explained that we are to chose a table, take a look at the race cards then pick a horse, one race at a time.  Over to the refreshments/cafe where they were serving a variety of beverages and hot food.

Painting the new office

Last Saturday there was a hive of activity at The Welcome Centre where volunteers and members were busy painting and decorating.  We have moved into a slightly larger office as Sarah was stuck without a desk (and forgotten about stuck in the corner).  Next week we have our first drop-in sessions so pop along and we will show you around.  Thanks Sarah

Race Night on Saturday

Just a gentle reminder that the Race Night is this Saturday 20th Feb 2016 at The Welcome Centre.  Doors open at 7.30pm and the first race is at 8pm.  Tickets are available direct from Kirsten at The Welcome Centre.  See you there.  Sarah

Songs with Signs 17.2.2016 Review

Songs with Signs, wow what a fantastic opportunity to practice all those Makaton Signs I have been learning.  The venue is URC Church in Wallasey Village and we were in a tiny room but it was also completely self contained, small kitchen area and toilets just to the side of the room.
